ATREYU Guitarist ROKKs Out With New Vintage Clothing Line

January 12, 2008

Niyaz Pirani of The Orange County Register reports that ATREYU guitarist Dan Jacobs is following the footsteps of musician-designers including Jennifer Lopez, Pete Wentz and Gwen Stefani with his line of vintage T-shirts branded ROKK Clothing.

"I've always been a big fan of vintage t-shirts, old metal t-shirts," Jacobs said. "They're really hard to find and I thought … why not make my own stuff?"

Jacobs said his inspiration came from a book given to him about old rock and metal shirts and from there his mind went wandering. While he doesn't design the final product himself, his mental blueprints get turned into reality by Brandon Rike, who has also worked on things for ATREYU.

While vintage rock T's can be found at many retailers, Jacobs said his line is special because of the cuts and faded designs used for ROKK. Much of the apparel consists of dark shirts with bright colors and musically-influenced artwork. One of the shirts simply features Jacobs' guitar on it.
